Telangana will be a 29th state of United State of India

The Union Cabinet on Friday cleared the Telangana Bill which will be introduced in Parliament on February 12, 2014. The controversial bill will be presented in the Rajya Sabha in the present form and the government will move 32 amendments when it is taken up for consideration. The proposed legislation does not provide for grant of Union Territory status to Hyderabad despite demands but the government will announce a special package for Rayalaseema and north coastal Andhra to address concerns of the people there.

On 30 January 2014, Andhra Pradesh assembly speaker declared that assembly completed the debate and said, he would send to the President of India a compilation of over 9,072 suggestions and amendments he received in writing from members and transcripts of 87 members who had spoken on the Bill in the house. Further he accepted the Chief minister's notice of resolution, which does not have cabinet approval, to reject the AP Reorganization Bill and declared that resolution passed by voice vote without even waiting for the MLAs in the house to say ‘aye’, amidst pandemonium and protests from Telangana MLAs. The resolution was placed in the house and passed within 15 seconds. The resolution has no legal effect and the supporters of telangana views the vote as an attempt to garner political mileage.

On 5 December 2013, Cabinet approved the Telangana draft bill prepared by the Group of Ministers (GoM). The bill awaits approval by Parliament before Telangana becomes the 29th state of the union.

On 30 July 2013, the ruling Congress party resolved to request the Central government to take steps in accordance with the Constitution to form a separate state of Telangana (the 29th state of India). The city of Hyderabad would serve as the joint capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for ten years. On 3 October 2013, the Union Cabinet approved the creation of a new state of Telangana by bifurcating the existing state of Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana is a region in the state of Andhra Pradesh that may become the 29th state of India. It was once part of Hyderabad State (Medak and Warangal divisions) which was ruled by the Nizams. Telangana is bordered by the states of Maharashtra to the north and north-west, Karnataka to the west, Chhattisgarh to the north-east and Odisha to the east. State of Andhra Pradesh had three main cultural regions: Telangana, Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. The Telangana region has an area of 114,840 square kilometres (44,340 sq mi), and a population of 35,286,757 (2011 census) which was 41.6% of the population of Andhra Pradesh.
Telangana comprises 10 districts: Hyderabad, Adilabad, Khammam, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Rangareddy, and Warangal.

Telangana and the language spoken in that region, "Telugu".

Telangana is situated on the Deccan Plateau, in the central stretch of the eastern seaboard of the Indian Peninsula. Various soil types abound, including chalkas, red sandy soils, dubbas, deep red loamy soils, and very deep b.c. soils that facilitate planting mangoes, oranges and flowers. About 45% of the forest area of Andhra Pradesh is located in five districts of Telangana. There are also extensive coal deposits, which are excavated by the Singareni Collieries Company, for power generation and industrial purposes. There are limestone deposits in the area, which are utilised by cement factories. Telangana also has deposits of bauxite and mica.
